Matt Crafton scores win in the WinStar World Casino & Resort 400...

Matt Crafton flexed his muscles tonight once again in the Camping World Truck Series at Texas Motor Speedway. Crafton dominated the event by leading 118 of the 167 scheduled laps to earn his 2nd victory of the season. Despite being the most dominate Truck of the night, the ending of the race was very dramatic as fuel mileage strategies came into play. Crafton held about a 3-4 second advantage over his competitors over the last 30 laps of the race but there was still one crucial pit stop that needed to take place. Except nobody gave that message to the #88 team. Instead of pitting and risking a victory, Crafton slowed the pace down considerably as his closest competitors hit pit road. The #88 Truck was running about 2 seconds off the pace for the final 5 laps but was able to stretch it to the distance to score the win in the WinStar World Casino & Resort 400.

Pocono 400 Starting Lineup

Jun 6, 2014 by NASCAR Wagers

Denny Hamlin captured the pole for Sunday’s Pocono 400 by just 2 one thousandths of a second over Kurt Busch. Hamlin’s blistering lap of 181.415mph set a new track record at Pocono Raceway and earned the #11 FedEx driver his 2nd pole of the season. The tricky triangle has been one of Hamlin’s best tracks over the past few years. Through 16 starts, Hamlin has racked up 4 wins with 8 Top 5 finishes. Earlier this week, Hamlin was listed at 11.5 to 1 odds which was very generous for a guy who has the 2nd most wins among active drivers. This Sunday Hamlin will have a chance to extend his dominance at Pocono when he leads the field to the green flag at 1:15pm (EST). Check out the rest of the Pocono 400 starting lineup:

Pocono 400 Practice 1 Results

Today’s lone practice session from Pocono Raceway has concluded for the Sprint Cup Series. At the end of the session, Brian Vickers stood a top the charts with a fast lap of 180.854mph. Vickers unofficial time would have broken the track record over Kasey Kahne’s pole mark of 180.654 back in August. Several drivers will likely flirt with that track record later today during Coors Light Pole Qualifying that will start at 4:35pm (EST). Check back for qualifying results later this afternoon and take a look at the Pocono 400 practice 1 results.

As the Sprint Cup Series prepares for 400 miles in the Poconos this Sunday, the Camping World Truck Series will get the racing weekend started this Friday under the lights at Texas Motor Speedway in the WinStar World Casino & Resort 400. This Friday night’s event marks the first weekend the Truck Series has not shared the same weekend venue as the Sprint Cup Series. As a result, there are not any Sprint Cup Series drivers entered into Friday night’s race which will give Truck Series’ regulars a rare opportunity to compete solely against one another for a win at Texas Motor Speedway.

Pocono 400 Fantasy Preview

Jun 2, 2014 by NASCAR Wagers

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will visit the “tricky triangle” this Sunday as teams prepare for 400 miles at Pocono Raceway. Considered one of the most difficult racetracks in NASCAR, Pocono Raceway is an extremely fast, flat, and wide 2.5 mile raceway with 3 distinct turns at each end of the track. One of the most unique aspects of Pocono Raceway is that the track is vastly different at each of its 3 turns and that makes car setups extremely difficult to dial in. It is not uncommon for a car to work really well in turn 1 then be terrible by the time it reaches turn 3 or vice versa. This week drivers and crews will be working extremely hard to find the most advantageous balance around this 2.5 triangle to put themselves in position for a win come Sunday.
