2016 Good Sam 500 Starting Lineup

On Friday in the final round of knockout qualifying, Kyle Busch posted a lap of 138.387mph to earn the pole for Sunday’s Good Sam 500 at Phoenix International Raceway. It marks the 18th time that Rowdy will lead the field to the green flag after what turned out to be a rather crazy and bizarre qualifying session. In yesterday’s qualifying for the Good Sam 500, we saw Kasey Kahne blow an engine and later witnessed Jimmie Johnson wreck in the final round of knockout qualifying. To make matters more interesting, several drivers that we expect to contend on Sunday had rather poor qualifying efforts. Kevin Harvick, who has won 4 of the last 5 races at Phoenix, posted a rather mundane 18th place effort. Brad Keselowski could only muster a 19th place qualifying effort and last November’s Phoenix winner Dale Earnhardt Jr was all the way back in the 26th position. Obviously some important practice sessions will be coming up later this afternoon as team’s try to make final adjustments in preparation for tomorrow’s race. Take a look at the 2016 Good Sam 500 starting lineup and check back later for updated race information.
