NASCAR fans will have the luxury of witnessing some of the most exciting racing in the world on Sunday when restrictor plate racing returns for the GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. Talladega has always stood alone as NASCAR”s biggest and fastest track. So far this weekend, Talladega’s reputation has not withered. In fact speeds were so potent at the beginning of the week, NASCAR decided to downsize the restrictor plate holes to decrease overall horsepower prior to Sunday’s command. These changes come on the heels of Jamie McMurray’s scary crash in practice that sent the #1 car airborne and barrel rolling down the backstretch. Of course the potential for big wrecks will not subside when 40 cars take the green flag on Sunday as drivers fight for a chance at a victory. As we all know these restrictor plate races give the opportunity for all competitors to score a big underdog style victory just as we saw earlier today when we cashed a winning ticket with Spencer Gallagher at over 30-1 odds. Tomorrow things will be even tougher and we will once again need a little luck on our side. However, the chance for a big winner cannot be averted and we take this time to provide our 2018 GEICO 500 race picks for Talladega!
