2025 Rackley Roofing 200 Race Picks

2025 Rackley Roofing 200 Race Picks

Date/Time: Friday May 30th, 2025. 8:00PM (EST)
Where: Nashville Speedway
TV: FS1

Last week, Corey Heim earned his 4th Craftsman Truck Series victory of the season with a dominating win at Charlotte in the NC Education Lottery 200. In last week’s race, Heim led 98 of 134 laps to beat the likes of Ross Chastain, Kyle Busch, and the rest of the Truck Series competitors. In recent weeks, Heim has been extremely dominant in the speed department and should continue to be a weekly favorite moving forward. On Friday, Heim will look for another victory as the Truck Series makes a stop in Music City for the running of the Rackley Roofing 200 at Nashville Speedway!

For the 2nd week in a row, Kyle Busch will return to the #07 truck with Spire Motorsports for his 4th start of the season. Busch captured an early victory back at Atlanta in the 2nd race of the season but has not shown the “elite” level speed on the traditional ovals following finishes of 9th at North Wilkesboro and 5th at Charlotte last week. Needless to say, I’m not sure if Rowdy is quite as threatening as we have expected from the driver that owns a lucrative total of 67 wins in the Truck Series. While I would not dispute the fact that Busch is certainly capable of winning again this week at Nashville, I continue to hold the viewpoint that Rowdy is being overpriced by odds-makers based on the speed shown by the Spire Motorsports’ trucks.

Obviously Heim and Busch are the two big favorites going into the weekend for justifiable reasons. However, I believe bettors should be very cautious before laying the chalk this weekend. Nashville Speedway is a rather unique 1.33 mile speedway. It is unique in the fact that it is the largest fully concrete track in the sport but slightly smaller than the normal cookie-cutter 1.5 mile speedways. More importantly, concrete has a different feel compared to asphalt from the driver seat and oftentimes handling is an even bigger factor than expected. For those reasons, it would not be surprising to see some lesser known names contend for a victory this weekend and perhaps pull off the outright upset!

Nashville – Truck Notes

  • Kyle Busch has two victories at Nashville in Truck Series competition. *Busch is the only former winner in Friday’s Rackley Roofing 200.
  • Corey Heim posted a stellar 120.9 average driver rating, resulting in a 3rd place finish, in the 2024 race at Nashville.
  • Rajah Caruth has produced a 105.0 average driver rating in his last two career starts at Nashville.
  • Tyler Ankrum has finished 8th or better in his last 3 starts at Nashville.
  • Ben Rhodes has finished 7th-12th in all 4 career starts at Nashville.
  • Jake Garcia has finished 10th in two career starts at Nashville.
  • Ty Majeski has finished in the top 10 in 3 of 4 career starts at Nashville.
  • Stewart Friesen has two 5th place results in 4 career starts at Nashville.
  • There have been at least 7 cautions in the last 3 races at Nashville.
  • The eventual race winner has started from the pole position in 5 of the last 8 races at Nashville.

Handicapping and Betting Strategy

I will be honest in stating that my confidence level for this week’s Truck Series race at Nashville is not quite as high as I would like. Nashville has historically been a tricky track and one of the rare tracks where practice speeds hold some handicapping significance. Since the Truck Series will not practice or qualify until late Friday evening, bettors simply will not have the luxury of making many, if any, bets after on-track activities conclude. For that reason, I am going to approach this race very cautiously and decrease my overall risk or units wagered. I don’t want to get bettors into a big hole to start the weekend because I believe there will be much better betting opportunities for the Xfinity and Cup races. Additionally since we all agree that Corey Heim remains the biggest threat in the field, I will lock-in an early parlay opportunity with Heim to build some value in the event the #11 goes back to back.

Betting Targets

As noted above, I am going to be very cautious with our betting selections for the Rackley Roofing 200 (in futures formats) as I believe there will be better betting opportunities on Saturday and Sunday. With that being said, I believe both Corey Heim and Kyle Busch can be used in parlay formats with the other races. Busch’s odds have improved slightly which puts him in the range of consideration. However, I still believe Heim is the driver to beat which has been the case all season. Behind the Heim/Busch duo, there are a lot of drivers that are getting really good value including the likes of Tyler Ankrum, Ty Majeski, and Rajah Caruth who are all listed at 30-1 odds or better.

Both Ankrum and Caruth have been really strong at Nashville in previous years and I would add that Ankrum has more top 5 finishes than any driver in the series, including the victory at Rockingham. As a result, I think these drivers are worthy of betting consideration simply based on value alone. Ankrum and Caruth should also be considered solid H2H targets as well. Deeper into the field, Gio Ruggiero and Tanner Gray continue to receive extremely generous betting odds. Both TRICON Garage drivers have shown a lot of speed at times this season and are worthy for prop bet consideration that is ideal for low-risk/high-reward scenarios.
