The Xfinity Series will kick-start a double header in NASCAR this afternoon with the running of the Hisense 250 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The racing action will continue afterwards with the Camping World Truck Series at Atlanta in the Hyundai Construction Equipment 200 at 5:49pm (EST). Needless to say, we have a full day of racing ahead so let’s get things started off with a winner with our Hisense 250 race picks!

Kevin Harvick won this race last year in dominate fashion by leading 159 of the 195 scheduled laps. It was actually one of the most dominate Xfinity Series performances of the season. Harvick is back today along with Sprint Cup Series competitors Joey Logano and Kyle Larson who finished 2nd and 3rd respectively in last year’s Xfinity Series race at Atlanta. However, thus far this week Logano has appeared to be the driver to beat. Fresh off his victory in the Daytona 500, Logano’s momentum has stayed strong by winning the pole in both today’s race and tomorrow’s Sprint Cup Series QuickTrip Folds of Honor 500. Logano also paced the field in the final practice for today’s Hisense 250 and posted the best 10 lap average through both sessions as well. Therefore, Logano appears to be the driver to beat.

Of course all of that can change once the green flag waves. We highly doubt anyone will dominate to the level that Harvick did last year. Though Logano appears to have the fastest car, Harvick is wicked good at Atlanta behind the wheel and will be a factor. Furthermore, Kyle Larson always finds his way to the front at Atlanta as well and he may be a driver to consider outside of your big favorites in Logano and Harvick. Throughout the rest of the field, the likelihood of finding a winner outside of your top 3 drops off quite significantly. Chase Elliot or Matt Kenseth may be your best bet. However, Elliot has not been overly impressive throughout practices this week and Kenseth has not performed well in Xfinity Series competition over the past two years at least in terms of victories. Therefore we really believe today’s race winner is a 3 horse race between Logano, Harvick, and Larson.
