The Camping World Truck Series will officially get the 2015 season started tonight when they take the green flag in the NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona International Speedway. The Truck Series season opener will feature a full field of 37 trucks tonight and surprisingly will not have any Cup Series talent. Last year’s winner and frequent CWTS competitor Kyle Busch will not be in this year’s field. However, Busch will have two guys trying to earn Kyle Busch Motorsports another victory tonight in the young talents of Erik Jones and Daniel Suarez. Take a look as we preview the NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona.

The biggest name in tonight’s field is Camping World Truck Series veteran Matt Crafton. When the Cup drivers have been missing from Truck Series competition, Crafton has typically been the driver to beat and has proved it with back to back CWTS Championships. However, one thing that Crafton has still yet to accomplish in his Truck Series career is scoring a win at Daytona. In fact, Crafton only has one top 5 finish in 14 career Daytona starts in the Truck Series. However Crafton has been much stronger in recent years and will should be among the top dogs tonight in a very young field.

Among the other names that will be looking to emerge from the lights of Daytona as a winner include guys like Johnny Sauter, Timothy Peters, Erik Jones, Ty Dillon, and a host of young guns. Peters has possibly been the most consistent on the restrictor plate tracks in recent Truck Series races. Peters captured a win at Talladega last season and finished 2nd to Kyle Busch in this race a year ago. Sauter also has a solid restrictor plate resume with a win in this race in 2013 and a 3rd place finish a year ago. Ty Dillon has been fast throughout practices and may be among the guys to watch tonight. Dillon has a 6th and 9th place finish in his only two Daytona starts.

Meanwhile, many guys may take a shot with Kyle Busch Motorsports driver Erik Jones. Jones has been one of the promising young talents in his limited starts in the Truck Series competition and will finally get the chance to compete in his first full season with the hopes of competing for a championship. The only downside to Jones is that he does not have a ton of restrictor plate experience and is making his first start at Daytona. Still, one of the topics entering tonight is the youth of the field that is scheduled to suit up tonight. Most feel like Jones is the most talented of the young guys in the field, but Daytona and restrictor plate racing has a history of providing surprising winners. Will one of the young drivers make their name known tonight or will we see an expected driver in victory lane? It will all be decided in 100 laps once the green flag falls at 7:52PM EST tonight!
